Youth

We welcome visitors and all new children to our Chippewa Valley Youth, Confirmation and Sunday School.

Chippewa Falls Church Youth Group Our Sunday School for pre-school through 5th grade is called Faith Quest. The students and children leave the sanctuary after the portion of the service called "Children in the Chancel". They then go to our classrooms and participate in workshops, music and classes.

Chippewa Valley Confirmation classes (grades 6, 7, 8) are also held on Sunday following the “Children in the Chancel” portion of the service.

Youth in grades 6-12 are invited to be a part of the fun and exciting youth group of First Presbyterian Church. During the school year, the group meets weekly on Wednesdays from 4:00pm-6:00pm.  We will start out with a large group meeting and activity, followed by breaking into small groups. The grades 6-8 group will meet with Pastor Barry Boyer and the grades 9-12 group will meet with Noelle Chaltry. We will have a meal at 5:30 which families and friends are invited to attend. All youth are invited and encouraged to bring their friends.

Monthly events are scheduled in addition to regular Wednesday activities. Past events include lock-ins, video game marathons, trips to Action City and much more.  We also have at least one service activity each month. Those have included volunteering at the humane society, putting on a talent show for nursing home residents and making stockings for homeless children of the Beacon House. The youth also lead at least one worship service each school year, called Youth Sunday.

Each summer the youth really dig in and get dirty for the Lord on their annual mission trip. They have gone to International Falls – painting houses, remodeling the Salvation Army and teaching kids in Vacation Bible School; Denver – more painting/remodeling, working in a nursing home and running a summer camp for kids; and to Atlanta in 2008 where they harvested vegetables in a Community Garden for impoverished women and children, packed boxes of food at the food pantry and yes, more painting and remodeling!

For any information about our Chippewa Falls Youth programs or suggestions of things you would like to see on the calendar, please contact Noelle Chaltry.
